WWE Raw 21/03/2011 Review

Cole dressed as Jim Ross comes out with a big round stomach and a cast on this leg to represent the ankcole lock from last week. After throwing the hat at Lawler, he runs into his Cole Mine with security protecting him. At least there was a chant of Jerry from the crowd, which was good to hear! Cole is such an ass! I hope the real Ross comes at WrestleMania to get pay back.

We move onto my favourite part of the night. HHH comes out to the crowd cheering. He says he does not know if this will be the last time he works here, WrestleMania being the defining moment of both of their careers and how neither of them will be the same after their match. After saying how big this match is, he asks Taker to come to Raw next week so he can look at him in the eyes, stand face-to-face, man-to-man, and tell him he will lose at WrestleMania and go 18-1, how he will end the streak, and how Taker will rest in peace! Taking nothing away from Taker, I am hoping HHH does defeat him!
Ted comes out and straight away, I thought…It is nice to see Ted but what are you are doing? He says since Legacy he has became an afterthought, but if he takes out HHH people will have no choice but to notice him! With that, he tries to get into the ring, but HHH knocks him off the apron and after a steel steps and chair attack HHH does the cutthroat sign and pedigree’s Ted through the announcers table! The only thing I would have done to make this attack better was if HHH used a sledgehammer instead of the steel chair. Poor Ted, he can talk the talk but he could not walk the walk…When are things going to work out for him again?

Sheamus vs. Evan Bourne
This was a short match, but I understand this was to show Sheamus is dominant again after the King of the Ring curse is broken.
After the match, Sheamus says that he is the new champion of the United States of America…Okay, that was not needed. Out comes Bryan to say, “one of the great things about this country is that everyone gets an opportunity no matter where they are from and wants his rematch at WrestleMania, but instead of getting a reply, he throws the belt at Bryan and bro kick him down…For Bryan fans I bet you were not happy, but I liked seeing Sheamus dominant again.

Orton is backstage with his own bus and describes how it gives him privacy, a place to clear his head, to think, to bring his family as he travels…So far he sounds like a face but then he says it also gives him the chance to see him punt each member of Nexus…That is better, now you sound like a heel!

Maryse vs. Eve Torres
Pretty slow starting as Maryse starts saying something I am guessing about Eve.
During the match, Cole once again interrupts and wants the match to hurry along as he has something else in store for Lawler. Eve wins the match.
After the match, Eve starts yelling at Cole for interfering…But after telling security to take her away he starts saying, “you want some of this” Idiot!

Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel (with Wade Barrett and EzekielJackson) vs. Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov (with Tamina)
It was great to see Santino again, but with not so many tag teams I guess this is the only match WWE could have done on Raw.
Why are these recent matches being so short, after dominance from Justin and Heath they pick up the win.
After the match The Corre start attacking Santino and Kozlov, which brings at Big Show and Kane with these old team theme and take out The Corre before double chokeslamming Zeke…Awesome, like I said on Smackdown it is good to see them teaming together again, but this will not make Kane a face!

Cena from his ‘home’ via satellite says next week he will come face to face with Rock and said he will settle things with him in the ring if needed. He then says he has underestimated Miz but hopes Miz rewrites history as Cena plans on making it!…Basically I thought Cena’s house looks a lot like backstage areas!

With Swagger, guarding the announcers table Cole says Brian Christopher gave him a family photo album. Cole begins to make insults about what is going on in some of the pictures. Once again, he takes things a step further and says that Lawler and his family are a bunch of losers. When Lawler finally had enough, he gets up but is hit down by Swagger and both him and Cole put an ankle lock on Lawler. Once back in his Cole Mine he tries to apologise for his actions…Well Cole I think you defiantly have what is coming to you at WrestleMania!

Then we get news reports of Snookie…With her not being there tonight, I think the video went on longer than it should have.

Dolph Ziggler (with LayCool and Vickie Guerrero) vs. John Morrison (with Trish Stratus)
This match should have been the match at WrestleMania…Not on Raw!
Not long into the match after Morrison takes over and knocks Dolph out the ring, Michelle stops Morrison from diving over the ropes and on to Dolph. Trish takes out Layla and Michelle and then the anonymous general manager changes the match to…

John Morrison and Trish Stratus vs. Dolph Ziggler and LayCool and Vickie Guerrero
Throughout the match Dolph’s team were the most dominant. The match ended with Morrison missing the Starship Pain allowing Ziggler to soon after hit the Zig Zag and allow Vickie to pin…Well done Dolph for picking up the win!

Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio
I was hoping Rey would not pick up the win but sadly, he did! After a DDT from the middle rope Punk appears on the titantron and says Orton has a nice bus and he cannot wait to meet his wife…Shame it is not his real wife though! Orton goes to the parking lot to get Punk. When there Punk comes up behind Orton and hits the back of the knees with a wrench…After taking out all members of Nexus I think this attack was fair.

Riley the new vice president of corporate communications (whatever that is) calls on the must see champion and the best man at his wedding The Miz! After comparing his greatness to Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Shawn Michaels, Andre the Giant, John Cena, and The Rock combined and the whole WWE Universe, he reveals he has flipped the WWE logo upside down to form an M, which stands for Miz and changed the WWE Championship with the M on it!…Even though the spin like a toy has been removed WWE have yet again ruined the belt! After Miz says he is awesome, Cena appears on the titantron clapping and like I said earlier Cena’s house did not look right he is actually at the arena and calls WWE his home! Cena, Miz, and Riley go at it, but after Miz escapes the ring, Riley who had been knocked out the ring during the attack, instead of following Miz, he comes back into the ring and attacks Cena, to cut a boring ending short…Cena finishes Raw!

Where was Albero Del Rio, who is on every Raw? Where was Punks match? Where was JBL? Where was Austin? Where was HHH the rest of the night? Where was Natalya?
