WWE Raw 04/04/2011 Review

Raw had a great opening as we had Jim Ross on commentary with Lawler!

Then HHH comes out with a decent ovation from this crowd but then we get a few chants of “you tapped out.” He says it is the most tired and beat up he has been in his life. He talks about last night and how nervous he felt with Taker and his undefeated streak! HHH brings up wrestling against Taker at WrestleMania before ad how important the streak is to Taker! He said he beat on Taker harder than any other person did in his life and he just kept coming. He mentions how they both left absolutely everything in that match last night and how it still was not good enough and how great Taker was. He says he saw a man being carried out on a stretcher after their match to keep the streak alive. HHH says people say Taker will not be back but he is not buying it. HHH thanks Taker for giving him the fight of his life. HHH says Taker will be back but if he comes back, he will be waiting. HHH makes his way back to the stage and poses one last time...I loved this! Yeah we have seen this match before, but it will be the chance to show us that he can defeat Taker, which HHH knows he can do!

Jim Ross says Cole is going to challenge Lawler to another match...I liked hearing Ross announce again especially with Lawler!
Cole comes out in his orange wrestling attire. He says Team Cole was victorious and overcame the obstacles to defeat Lawler...Cole you only did that thanks to the GM... Lawler so beat your ass! Then Cole said the painful words and called himself Mr. WrestleMania as he stole the show and is undefeated at WrestleMania, which he sadly is now, as WWE are not going to go back and change that! Lawler tells him to shut up while Cole poses. Lawler then calls Cole a worthless jackass. Cole wants a rematch, which Lawler is obviously pleased to have but instead of being against Cole, it is against Swagger and straight away, I thought it is time to bury Swagger more!

Jerry Lawler vs. Jack Swagger (with Michael Cole)
Okay, so to cut this match shorter than what it already is after a dropkick Lawler goes for the fist drop but Cole distracts him and Lawler chases him into the ring and starts beating on him. Swagger locks in the ankle lock and Lawler taps.
After the match, as Swagger did not break the hold the referee reverse the decision.
After this match, Cole is angry but instead of taking it out on Lawler, he squirts BBQ sauce on Jim Ross! Jim Ross then chases Cole to the back and it was later said that Jim Ross had to be looked at as some go into his eyes...Yeah, thanks for taking out Jim Ross Cole!

Booker T and Josh are at the commentary table.

Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes
Straight away, I thought this match was stupid. We have Orton and Rey teaming up after they had a match against each other a few weeks back and I guess teaming Cody with Punk was okay. Come on Punk; pick up the win for your team.
In the match we see Punk giving Orton several kicks to the bad leg of Orton, at one point Punk sets him up for the Go To Sleep but Orton slides out and tries for the RKO but Punk escapes and fights off and goes for Orton’s injured leg again. Rey gets hot tagged in later hits a springboard moonsault for a two count. Punk sends Rey into the turnbuckle where Cody punches start punching him before Orton runs over and sweeps Cody off the ropes. Rey goes for the 619 on Punk but Cody comes in and hits the flash kick and Punk gets a two count. After both Orton and Cody are tagged in, Orton goes crazy and gives Cody a middle rope DDT then an Angle Slam and goes for a pin but Punk stops the count. The ending was awesome as Rey hits the 619 to Cody into an RKO for the win. So the wrong team won!

Backstage Austin congratulates HHH on a good match last night.

Austin makes his way down to the ring, crowd is going nuts again. Then the Tough Enough wrestlers and Divas. Austin goes on to talk about how he gets to pick one of them to be a wrestler or diva. After each one introduces themselves Miz and Riley come out with Cole doing his normal happiness to see him. Miz comes out and says when he was on Tough Enough people kept telling him to go back to the Real World but after last night no one will tell him where to go ever again...Which could e true as like I said...Miz did good at WrestleMania! He tells the Tough Enough contestants they will never get to do what he did and tell them they will not get close to the WWE Championship. Miz then turns to Austin and asks if he has one more run and asks him if he is tough enough. The crowd then chants, “one more match.” Miz asks Austin if they should clear the ring and have one more match. Austin asks for the ring to be cleared...Oh wow, I did not expect Miz to have this much bravery! Sadly, Riley punches Austin in the corner while Miz watches from the ramp. Austin turns it and beats down Riley before hitting the Thesz Press, a stiff elbow and then what we all knew was coming a stunner! Riley rolls to the outside and Austin asks for a beer, which he passes out to the Tough Enough competitors. Before leaving, Austin goes over to the Cole Mine and he pours beer all over Cole who was begging him not to do it.

Alberto Del Rio (with Brodus Clay and Ricardo Rodriguez) vs. Evan Bourne
Tonight Alberto comes out with no expensive car and Bourne gets no introduction! As the rest of this match was sad to watch, I shall get to the end. Evan goes to the top rope for the shooting star press but Alberto hits a flash kick and then lock in his arm breaker for the win

Vicki and Dolph comes out dressed in their ring attire so you know they are going to announce a match.
Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero vs. John Morrison and Trish Stratus
Now this is more like it! Morrison corners Ziggler for a series of punches before Ziggler tags in Vickie, which forces Morrison to tag in Trish. Vicki badly fails to do a cartwheel and is rolled up for a two count. Trish ducks a clothesline and rolls Vicki up again. Trish starts chopping Vickie but Vickie pulls Trish’s hair behind the referees back. Vickie fails a leg drop and Trish tags in Morison who misses a flash kick Dolph hits an overhead belly to back suplex for a pin that Trish breaks. After a slap from Trish Dolph gets a flash kick then a Starship Pain for the win!

Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan
Sheamus attire looked awful, I mean seriously! This match was good to see because thanks to WWE, this was a dark match at WrestleMania and even though we have to see this good match and Sheamus won, it was not the match itself that was the important part. After the match,Sheamus continues to beat on Bryan and Sin Cara comes out to the stage then runs to the ring! He jumps over the top rope and fails a little and Sheamus runs into him but Cara jumps off the ropes, hits the hurricanranna, and then hits the dropkick, which sends Sheamus to the outside. Cara hits a high cross body onto Sheamus on the floor! Cara then heads up the stage and poses. WWE are only burying Bryan more, as now Cara had made an appearance that is probably made the Sheamus and Bryan rivalry end.

Cena comes out and brings up Rock putting on Twitter that he is coming to whoop some candy ass. Cena said it would have sucked if Rock did not come out and restart the match at WrestleMania. Cena then congratulates Miz for walking in and out of WrestleMania as the champion. Cena says Rock was suppose to be the host of WrestleMania but then got into Cena’s business, which they have to settle right now. Cena stands and waits until Rock to come out. The crowd chants for the Rock and then start chanting “fruity pebbles” haha! Rock ask Cena what he thought was going to happen because payback was coming. Rock said he talked trash on Cena because that is what he does. Rock then says he respect him for what he does and has done but just does not like Cena. Rock says how different and similar they as they both will do things to the absolute best. Rock says he shops at department stores while Cena shops at baby gap haha! Cena then makes a good comeback and says fashion advice from the tooth fairy. Cena once again says the time for the talk is over and for Rock to listen to the people...Yeah, we have heard that before. Cena says people are standing because they want Cena vs. Rock. Cena takes off his shirt while Rock stares at him. Rock says Cena has no idea what he just asked for. Rock says they do this at WrestleMania 28! Now with Rock being as busy as he is, could WWE really make this year build up worth it? As it would look bad changing their minds now! The two end up shaking and staring at each other before Corre surround the ring now and jump Rock and Cena! The two try and outdo each other, but to be honest...It is defiantly too early for this to mean anything but could there be a Cena and Rock vs. Corre or are they going to continue with Big Show and Kane and forget what has just happened?
